Indian wedding invitations for families around the world

Planning an Indian wedding across countries means explaining more than a date. Your guests may need to book flights, choose which celebrations to attend, arrange transport and understand unfamiliar ceremonies. Start with one clear invitation and send detailed travel information separately. This guide helps you write an English invitation that welcomes both close relatives and guests attending their first Indian wedding.

Illustrative sample; names and venues are fictional.

Choose the right invitation for each guest

List every function that this particular guest is invited to attend. A wedding ceremony, sangeet and reception can have different guest lists; do not put a private family event on a card sent to everybody. Show the couple’s names prominently, followed by the hosts if you wish. Add a full venue name, street address, city, country and an RSVP contact with a country code. Your family can keep traditional titles while explaining the occasion in plain English.

Send useful travel details separately

Share a save-the-date once the date and city are firm, especially for overseas travellers. Follow with the invitation after you have confirmed venues and ceremony timings. A separate travel note can explain the nearest airport, hotel booking deadline and whether a shuttle is arranged. Give facts you have confirmed; avoid promising visa eligibility, flight connections or accommodation that you do not control. A venue map link is more useful than an unexplained landmark.

One wedding, several languages

English is a useful shared language for an international guest list, while Hindi or Hindi + English can suit relatives. The maker also supports Urdu for the Muslim style and Gurmukhi names. Type names carefully and review the actual preview rather than relying on an automatic spelling suggestion. You can keep names in English letters even when the surrounding wording is in another supported script. Ask the couple to approve names, parents’ titles and the order of events.

Choose a file your guests can use

A JPG is convenient for a personal WhatsApp message. A print PDF suits relatives who would like a physical keepsake: choose 5×7 inches, 6×9 inches or A5, then confirm paper and envelope dimensions with the printer. A video makes a short introduction, but it should not be the only place guests can find the address and time. Everything combines the JPG, print PDF and MP4. A free preview is watermarked; it is for checking layout rather than sending as a finished invitation.

English wording you can adapt

Together with their families, Priya Sharma and Arjun Mehta warmly invite you to celebrate their wedding. Saturday, 20 February 2027 · Ceremony 11:00 AM IST. Rose Garden Hall, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Reception to follow at 7:00 PM IST. Kindly reply by 15 January to the host using the contact details in your personal invitation.

Replace every example name, address, date and RSVP instruction with your confirmed details. Do not send an example venue as if it were booked.

Time zones: show the venue time first

Write the date in words, for example “20 February 2027”, so US and UK guests do not reverse the day and month. Put the city and time zone beside the time. India uses IST (UTC+05:30); Toronto and London can change offset with daylight saving, so check the event’s date rather than today’s clock. For example, on 20 February 2027, 11:00 AM in Jaipur is 12:30 AM in Toronto and 5:30 AM in London. Label any second time as a guest reference and keep the venue time prominent.

The maker prints the time you enter without converting it. Its current guest calendar/countdown assumes IST, so for a wedding outside India use the printed local-time details and share your own verified calendar invitation. Do not rely on the automatic guest calendar for an overseas venue. Check any conversion with a calendar set to the actual event date before sending.

Questions families ask

Can I make one invitation for guests in several countries?

Yes. Use the venue’s local date and time, a complete address and an RSVP phone with country code. Share separate travel notes when different guests need different instructions.

Do you post a printed card overseas?

No. Imagivo supplies digital files. You can take the print PDF to your own printer; printing, envelopes and postage are not included.
